• Greet guests on their arrival ensuring they feel recognized and welcome and attempt to use guest’s name at every opportunity
• Check in and checkout guests according to the hotel’s standards
• Stay up to date on room rates, special packages, etc.
• Use up-selling techniques in order to maximize the rooms’ revenue
• Develop detailed knowledge of the hotel’s services, outlets, and hours of operation for each
• Handle the safe deposit boxes according to hotel procedures
• Prepare and report guests with high balance to the attention to Front Office Manager
• Notify the Housekeeping of all early check ins, extended guests, early departures and special requests in the rooms
• Check the housekeeping reports immediately upon receipt, record discrepancies and report to the Duty Manager, Reception Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager
• Report any unusual occurrence, request, or complaint to the Duty Manager, Reception Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager
• Attend the daily briefing and follow up on pending issues
• Possess a working knowledge of reservation; take same day reservation, future reservation, and know cancellation procedures
• Post and file all charges of guests, or city ledger accounts
• Adhere to proper credit, check cashing and handling policies and procedures
• Handle all guest requests efficiently, friendly and with a smile
• Enter all guests’ folios into the computer immediately and accurately
• Answer the telephone promptly and clearly as per the telephone techniques standards, ensuring a courteous & friendly manner
• Check arrivals and departures of the next day, prepare all supports and check the routing instruction according to the support.
