Job Brief

We are looking for a professional project engineer to handle engineering and construction projects by planning, organizing and controlling all elements of the project. A typical project engineer should be able to perform engineering modeling, analysis and design of new structures, evaluate existing structures, develop detailed drawings for construction, perform site investigations and calculate bill of quantities.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance)
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Work closely on construction plans with clients, architects, and other professionals
• Investigate the properties of construction materials and advise which is most suitable
• Use computer simulations to model structural behavior of different structures
• Inspect existing buildings and recommend options for repairs or demolition
• Make sure that projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements
• Monitor construction and supervise field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project
• Respond to contractor questions and issues
• Recommend and prepare change orders, if authorized by the Project Manager
• Prepare status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors and schedules
• Allocate project resources appropriately
• Keep an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects
• Present procedures, rules and regulations to those involved in the project; maintain a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures
• Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
• Collaborate with the Senior Engineers to create more efficient methods and maintain profitability
• Responsible for preparing calculations, charts and graphs, and monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices
• Provide judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Coordinate with other engineering and architecture disciplines during planning, design and construction administration phases of projects
• Model, analyze and design different types of structures
• Prepare design and construction drawings as required at different stages of a project
• Calculate the quantity take-offs for different construction elements

• MS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering
• Proven working experience as a project engineer
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
• Good knowledge in structural modeling software: Etabs, SAFE and Robot.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
