The Front End Developer is responsible for the functionality and efficiency of the web infrastructure of the UNHCR's Digital Hub.
This role entails the creation, maintenance and active testing of all public and private facing web and e-commerce sites as well as producing meaningful marketing KPI dashboards and delivering monthly, cross-channel performance reports with actionable insight.
Private Sector Partnership Service (PSP) needs to hire Senior WordPress Front-End Developer to join our team! As a WordPress Developer at UNHCR PSP office, he/she will be responsible for front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins along with a UI/UX “mobile-first” mind-set. He/she are expected to have a strong understanding of latest industry trends and content management systems.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement custom WordPress theme, new features and functionality
Ensure all work adheres to current industry best practice.
Help formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
Develop mobile responsive websites and applications.
Optimize and test across all major browsers on desktop and mobile devices.
Implement SEO/SMO strategies across all of web platforms
Develop and maintain complex WordPress theme, plugins and widgets.
Write high quality code with readability, efficiency, and maintainability in mind while following best practices and proper documentation
Establish and guide the website’s architecture
Brand WordPress widgets, plugins, custom post types, and page templates
DRY coding principles with “mobile-first” mentality.
Work with APIs and 3rd party system integration
Experience with Gulp/Webpack
Work with designers to convert PSD page layouts into code
Develop visually appealing responsive websites and branded experiences
3. Maintaining existing websites:
Maintain & implement styles, layout and content changes for existing websites
Provide timely resolution to reported problems with existing websites.
Troubleshoots and provide continual maintenance and upgrades of the existing websites
Coding review the work of other developers or “of any third party”Perform other related duties as required.
