Job Overview
A barista extends a sincere welcome to customers. They prepare and serve hot or cold drinks that are frequently customized to the tastes of the client. They are in charge of collecting payments and orders from customers. Additionally, they sanitize and clean their tools, equipment, and seating spaces.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Greeting customers, letting them know about sales or new products, responding to inquiries, and taking orders and payments.
• Preparing coffee and tea, grinding and blending coffee beans, and serving prepared food to consumers.
• Packaging for the selling of food and drink.
• Selling coffee and tea mixes and brewing supplies, emphasising variations in the products, and instructing clients on brewing techniques.
• Disinfecting tools and utensils, dumping the garbage, and cleaning and refilling the kitchen and eating spaces.
• Learning about beverage blending, meal preparation, and presentation strategies to enhance the quality of cuisine.
• Updating displays and signage to draw in customers.
• Making an inventory and refilling stock behind the counter, at tables, and in display cases.
• Being a part of a lively, enjoyable team.
• Adhering to all quality and food safety norms.
Qualifications
Language: A high level English and Arabic is essential (reading, writing and speaking). French is a plus.
Education: High school degree or degree in hospitality or any other equivalent degree is a plus.
Technical skills and abilities:
• The ability to endure prolonged standing and walking.
• Flexible workplace hours.
• The capacity to handle challenging customers with professionalism and serenity.
• Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
• Coordination required to move trays or plates without dropping them.
