Job description:

Installation: HVAC Technician install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This involves following blueprints, specifications, and local building codes to ensure proper system installation.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate efficiently. This includes cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating various components such as motors, fans, and belts.

Repair: Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions. This may involve troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components, replacing faulty parts, and ensuring that the system operates safely and effectively.

Testing and Inspections: Conduct tests on HVAC systems to identify issues and ensure they meet performance standards. Inspect installed systems to verify that they comply with design and safety specifications.

Refrigerant Handling: HVAC Technicians are often responsible for handling refrigerants. They must be knowledgeable about the safe and proper handling, disposal, and recycling of refrigerants to comply with environmental regulations.

Customer Service: Communicate with clients to understand their heating and cooling needs, explain system issues and repairs, and provide recommendations for system improvements or upgrades.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations. Document system specifications, work performed, and any replacement parts used.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex issues related to HVAC systems. This may involve analyzing electrical circuits, checking refrigerant levels, and troubleshooting control systems.

Upgrading Systems: Advise clients on energy-efficient and cost-effective upgrades to their HVAC systems. Install new components or recommend system enhancements to improve performance and reduce energy consumption.

Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety protocols.

Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry developments, new technologies, and advancements in HVAC systems. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
