Job Summary
The Principal Auditor will serve as a key leader within the internal audit function, responsible for overseeing and driving the effectiveness of the organization's audit strategy. This role involves leading a team, developing audit plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services.
Responsibilities
• Audit Leadership
o Develop and implement comprehensive risk-based audit plans and programs.
o Provide strategic direction and leadership to the audit team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the audit function.
o Lead and mentor a team of auditors, providing guidance on complex audit engagements.
• Audit Execution
o Conduct and oversee financial, operational, and compliance audits, ensuring thorough examination.
o Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying areas for enhancement.
o Execute audits in accordance with professional standards, regulations, and internal policies.
o Review and approve audit workpapers, reports, and deliverables.
• Strategic Recommendations
o Communicate audit findings and strategic recommendations to executive and senior management.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to implement recommendations and improve internal controls.
o Provide insights on risk mitigation strategies and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Industry Knowledge
o Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in auditing.
o Apply industry-specific knowledge to enhance audit methodologies and processes.
o Act as a subject matter expert on audit-related matters within the organization.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA certification required, LCPA certification preferred.
• CIA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in auditing, including leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of auditing standards, risk management, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing audit team.
• Excellent command of English and Arabic languages for reporting purposes.
• French language is a plus.
