A leading company in catering located in Dekweneh is looking for an Accountant to join its team.

• Assist in performing basic accounting functions such as general ledgers and bank reconciliations.
• Help with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports
• Gather, enter, and post monthly adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile, adjust, and maintain balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, Accounts receivable and Payables and ensure compliance with established accounting practices.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Assist Auditors by providing supporting documents and information on internal process that is required to audit.
• Gather and maintain a wide variety of financial information, files and records.
• Review financial information to identify potential budget variances, completing statistical information, and conforming to established financial practices.
• Handling any guest inquiries in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner. Taking personal responsibility for each request up to the point of completion.
• Being familiar with all fire and safety procedures. Following the procedures as required and working in a safe manner at all times.
• Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
• Responsible for ensuring that the payroll and accounting department operate in a cohesive manner.
• Maintains accounts relating to payroll and handles the reconciliation of these accounts via the accounting system.
• Maintains the payroll journal and ensures disbursements are properly recorded. He researches and guides the payroll staff on how to handle payroll issues affecting accounting.
• Performs internal payroll audits and prepares documents for various audits and prepares required government reports and drafts responses to related inquiries.
• Documents duties within the department to ensure the staff is efficient and has sufficient training.
• Acts as a liaison with the Department of Labor, providing data and reports upon request.

*Skills and Specifications

• University graduate with a degree in Accounting, finance, Audit or any related field.
• 3 to 5 years of Experience
• Computer literate with knowledge of standard office software applications. MS Office is required.
• Fluent in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
• Knowledge and proficiency of financial/ accounting principles.
• Knowledge of payroll and accounting software is also a plus.
