Responsibilities
1. Client Relations:
o Develop and maintain relationships with key clients.
o Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
o Address and resolve customer issues or complaints professionally.
2. Sales Strategy:
o Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets and drive growth.
o Analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine strategies.
o Set individual and team sales goals and monitor progress.
3. Technical Expertise:
o Offer technical support and advice on food products, production processes, and industry standards.
o Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
o Conceptually sell probiotics and provide technical assistance throughout the product development stages.
4. Sales Support:
o Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales and product offerings.
o Assist in creating sales materials and presentations.
o Develop core product positioning and messaging.
5. Reporting:
o Track and report on sales performance, metrics.
o Use data to identify improvement opportunities and adjust strategies.
o Prepare and present sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.
6. Market Analysis and Strategy:
o Conduct market research to understand product segments and opportunities.
o Assess market trends and develop business plans for product commercialization.
7. Customer and Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal support teams.
o Maintain detailed records of contacts and meetings.
o Stay informed about competitor products and activities.
8. Collaboration and Reporting:
o Work closely with management to improve funnel conversion and present results.
o Provide feedback and collaborate with management to develop ongoing improvement strategies.
9. Administrative Duties:
o Manage sales budgets and expenses efficiently.
o Oversee the completion of sales documentation, including contracts and orders.
o Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
o Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, preferably within the food industry.
o Proven commercial track record within sales in the food industry, ideally with 4-6 years of experience.
• Knowledge:
o Deep understanding of food industry processes, products, and regulations.
o Awareness of Food Safety Management.
o Strong product knowledge, particularly in food ingredients and probiotics.
• Skills:
o Technical Knowledge: Ability to explain complex technical information clearly and effectively.
o Sales and Marketing: Strong sales skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets; experience in developing and executing sales strategies.
o Leadership: Proven experience in managing and motivating a team; ability to foster a positive team environment.
o Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
o Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills; adaptability to changing market conditions and client needs.
