The Senior Shipping Officer is a key role responsible for coordinating shipping activities, conducting cost analysis studies, negotiating with carriers, and optimizing shipping processes. This position involves ensuring efficient vessel availability and recommending cost-saving measures to management.
Key Responsibilities:
•Coordinate closely with the Supply Chain department to prepare shipping forecasts aligning with yearly ordering projections.
•Regularly conduct market studies on carrier prices for benchmarking and cost-effectiveness.
•Follow up on all shipments, ensuring vessel availability and identifying efficient shipping routes.
•Act as a key player in implementing new software within the shipping department, enhancing processes and designing necessary reporting tools.
•Prepare monthly statistical data studies to track and analyze shipping performance.
•Manage all critical shipping documents required for efficient shipping processes.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in shipping and logistics.
•Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or related field.
•Proficiency in shipping software and tools
•Attention to detail in document management
•Ability to analyze market trends and carrier pricing
