Job Overview:
The Finance Manager will oversee and manage the financial operations of our confectionery manufacturing facility. This role involves developing and implementing financial systems, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring that the factory's financial goals align with the company’s overall objectives. The ideal candidate will bring experience in manufacturing finance, a strong understanding of cost management, and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and manage the company's financial planning and budgeting processes.
Analyse financial data, trends, and performance to provide recommendations for improvement.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Manage and monitor the company's financial exposure and insurance needs.
Cash Management:
Manage the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions.
Tax Planning and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and optimize the company's tax position.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
Financial Strategy:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Team Management:
Supervise and lead the finance team, including financial analysts, accountants, and other staff.
Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities for team members.
Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with senior management and other departments to communicate financial performance and implications.
Present financial reports and insights to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirement :
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; a master's degree (e.g., MBA) is often preferred.
Professional certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus.
Several years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field in Nigeria.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and financial modeling.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
