Position Summary / Job Brief:
In this internship, you will work closely with experienced auditors on real-world audit engagements, assist in risk assessments, and contribute to the evaluation of internal controls. The position is designed to cultivate both technical expertise and professional growth, ensuring that you gain a comprehensive insight into the auditing process.
Required Education:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a GPA over 3.5.
Required Experience & Certificates:
-No prior experience required; however, previous internships or volunteer experience in accounting, auditing, or finance will be an advantage.
-Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Required Skills:
-Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
-Basic understanding of accounting principles and auditing procedures.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
-A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
-Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.
-Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
-Knowledge of French is a plus.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Tasks and Duties:
-Assist in planning, executing, and conducting fieldwork for audit engagements under the supervision of senior auditors.
-Participate in the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements, working papers, and audit documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
-Collaborate with team members to evaluate internal controls, compliance with regulatory standards, and identify areas for improvement.
-Contribute to the development of audit reports, offering insights for continuous improvement and presenting audit findings to clients.
-Support the advisory team by researching accounting standards, industry best practices, and staying updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and auditing regulations.
-Assist in performing testing of accounting and auditing financial statements, verifying financial transactions, reviewing accounting systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
-Assist in preparing and maintaining organized workpapers and audit documentation, to ensure easy accessibility and accuracy.
-Help identify audit issues and communicate them to senior team members, ensuring timely resolution.
-Assist with client communication, addressing inquiries promptly, and participating in client meetings to discuss audit results and recommendations.
-Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, preparing audit reports, and filing documents as required.
-Assist the audit team with any additional tasks necessary for the completion of client projects.
