Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Control Function

Company Overview:
A leading insurance and reinsurance group based in Lebanon. Following its recent acquisition of A company, a prominent insurance player in Africa operating in over 21 countries, has created a Control Function Department to oversee financial operations and governance across these diverse markets.
Role Summary:
As the CFO – Control Function, you will lead financial control, governance, and audit processes across the African subsidiaries, ensuring consistency, compliance, and strategic alignment with group objectives. This is a high-impact role requiring strategic thinking, technical financial expertise, and strong leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the financial control and audit functions across 21 African subsidiaries.
• Establish and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and local regulations.
• Drive financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Build, mentor, and lead a multicultural finance team across various African markets.
• Partner with senior leadership at Chedid Capital and Ascoma to optimize financial performance and manage risks.
• Represent the company in financial negotiations and discussions in Africa and beyond.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis across all subsidiaries.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
✅ Fluency in French (essential) and English.
✅ 15+ years of progressive experience in financial management.
✅ Proven experience in managing financial operations in large, complex organizations.
✅ Solid technical expertise in accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and governance.
✅ Previous exposure to international or cross-border financial operations.
✅ Experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector is a strong plus.
✅ Willingness and ability to travel periodically to African countries.
✅ Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.
✅ Resilient, adaptable, and culturally sensitive leader.
