Responsibilities:
• Track and record costs associated with production, maintenance, and other operational activities to ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Monitor raw material, labor, and overhead costs to provide a clear understanding of production expenses.
• Analyze variances between actual and standard costs, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, including cost of goods manufactured (COGM) and present findings to management.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts by providing accurate cost data and analysis.
• Collaborate with the Senior Accountant to ensure alignment between costing and overall financial planning.
• Monitor and maintain accurate costing of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Conduct periodic inventory valuation and reconciliation to ensure consistency with accounting records.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards in all costing processes.
• Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and warehousing teams to gather accurate cost data and understand operational drivers.
• Liaise with the Head of Planning & Reporting Unit and Senior Accountant to align cost accounting with financial reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands-on experience in tracking and managing costs associated with production, inventory, and operations in industries like FMCG, manufacturing, or food processing.
